i am the rumour on everyones lips A series of agreeing mutters filled the room after the teachers words. "Good, now do pages four hundred fifty six through fourhundred fifty eight." Then a series of groans filled the room along with a few eye rolls. Lizza flipped a few pages before beginning the work. Her first week back at school. It wasn't very exciting, just like she remembered, the same boring St. Wilmonds. Then when she finally went to college it would be the same way, only the same boring St. Constance. Woo hoo, a new name... Liz ran a pale, slender hand through her hair. She glanced up at the clock again, 10:50. "Oh comne on!" A few people looked up from their work and she motioned toward the clock. "Your telling me you-" "Miss. Adams, please contain your outbursts. This is the third time this week. Would you like to start your week back in the office?" Lizza stayed quiet as she tapped her pencil on the desk. The teacher gave a solemn nod and continued working. 10:52. She sighed nd laid her head on her desk.[/ul]

As the teacher rumbled on through his lecture, Samantha stared up at the ceiling, bored as ever. Something needed to happen, and fast, or she would officially die and have to give away her spot as a pretty. Yeah, not happening. She crossed her smooth legs underneath her and grumbled as she took out the brand-new looking spiral notebook and flipped it open to a fresh page, resigning to the fact that she had to do the assignment.
And then, just as she thought she might have to recruit a helpful distraction from the guidance office, she looked up and grinned at Lizza. She had given her just the right amount of energy to muster her hand to be raised. "Ex-cusee me??" she called out to the teacher. "I'm parched. May I get a drink of water?" she asked, gazing him straight in the eye. "I suppose. Write a pass and come straight back." Sam nodded and wrote a pass, but on the bottom of the page scribbled: |Want out? Follow as soon as I leave.| Her perfect block writing contrasted the sloppily folded note as she walked up the aisleway, purse on arm, and dropped the note square on Lizza's desk. The teacher signed her pass and waved her out, and Samantha strode through the door, proud of her victory.

Lizza thought with an annoyed tone. Then the teacher stopped his lecture to answer a student with a raised hand. 'Probably a nerd.' A soft voice filled the room that had such amount of persuasion, it had to belong to Sammy. A grin danced on to Lizza's lips as she watched the teacher who tried to keep his composure from the sudden gaze of Samantha St. Vincent. When Sammy passed, she dropped a note which Liz scooted into her lap as soon as it landed on the desk. Want out? Follow as soon as I leave. 'Freedom, finally. Thank you God for Sammy.' "Sir, may I please go to the bathroom?" She tried to pull the same innocent act, but the teacher didn't buy it. He rose an eye brow but gave a slow nod. "Make it quick." She smiled politely and headed toward the door. As soon as she stepped out the door, and closed it of course, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Sammy? Have I ever told you how much I love you?" Liz asked as she reached into her pocket for her pack of cigarettes. "Want one?" She motioned the pack toward Sam. "I've been craving one since the beginning of class. Aren't you going to get your drink of water?" Her grin stayed in place as she put the cigarette in her mouth. 'Lighter?' She thought as she searched in her pocket. "Damn, just bought that lighter too. Do you have a light?"[/ul]

"Multiple times, hon." Samantha laughed as Liz reached for her ciggarettes. "Ahh no actually I never started-- no offense, smoking's not something I want to be addicted to. Caffine, though.." She commented as she pulled out a lighter and a bottle of the Pepsi energy drink, "Has always been a weakness of mine. Keep the lighter. I found it in my car so I put it in my purse. Obviously I have nothing to use it for, as you do." Sam smiled and collapsed on the floor in the hallway. "Take a sit with me. I'm not headed back to that torture chamber until someone comes and yells at me." Sam sighed and drank up the caffine, settling the headache that had begun to form in the class. "So how are you my dear?" Sam and Liz were okay friends, and Sam liked to keep Liz close as a source of gossip and a shoulder to lean on, which Liz always provided.

Liz asked more to herself then to Sam. When she rejected Lizz's offer, Liz nodded and tucked away the cigarettes. "It's fine, plenty of people have the same opinion. Even though one's that do aren't as nice about it as your are." Her words were muffled slightly by the cigarette in her mouth and she tried to light it. "Thank you, so much. And true, I love coffee. Can't live without it." Lizz smiled. She dropped to the floor like Sam did. "The most boring class." She sighed and took a drag from her cigarette. A few seconds later she blew out the smoke. If any of the staff saw her smoking inside the building again. suspension was on the line. " I'm fine, quite fine. My first week back has been... interesting. No one has really changed have they?" She asked with an amused tone. "At least you haven't, thankfully I have one friend left." Elizabeth tried to force a small smile so her voice wouldn't seem so deperessish.[/ul]

"No not at all. You telling you love me all the time just makes me feel better!" Sam giggled and sipped her Pepsi. "See now thats exactly whats wrong with this world!!People can't accept and live together like you and me! And I agree- I don't know what I'd do without coffee." Sam smiled and listened to Lizz speak. "It is. I'm tired of it. And I'm glad you're back. No one ever changes, and I'm sure people will warm up soon. Why did you leave anyways?" Sam asked curiously, hoping she'd find out.
